Car Portal

Project Overview

Car Portal

Our client, a small insurance broker based in Berlin, sought to develop a specialized system for selling cars in the mass market

Challenge

The client launched a startup aimed at enabling end users to create and publish car sale advertisements. To capture market opportunities, the required solution needed to be developed and deployed rapidly

Team Composition

2 FTE – .Net developer, 0.5 FTE – tech lead/analyst

Technology Stack

C#.Net 4.5, MVC, jQuery, REST, MSSQL, Windows Server

Process

  1. Technical Task Development:
The client designated a product owner to manage requirements. Scandiantech’s team analyzed the business requirements and created a comprehensive technical task document. This document was mutually agreed upon and served as the roadmap for development
  2. Technical Design:
The system followed an n-tier architecture. The user interface and backend were built using .NET MVC, incorporating HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery. Data was stored in MSSQL, and REST APIs were developed for integration with third-party services. Windows services were implemented for daily maintenance tasks. The system included a personal space for users to manage their advertisements, a common space where all advertisements could be viewed publicly
  3. Development and Testing:
Development tasks were tracked in Jira for streamlined project management. Rigorous testing included: Unit tests to validate code quality; UI automated tests using Selenium for end-to-end scenarios; Performance testing to ensure scalability; Penetration testing to secure the platform
  4. Delivery and Deployment:
Software was deployed iteratively to production servers configured by Scandiantech specialists (Windows Server 2012). Regular client acceptance testing ensured alignment with business goals
  5. SEO:
Special SEO tags have been added to the system with tracking tools. All links, content and site structure have been optimized for the SEO

Results

The first version of the system was delivered within three months of project initiation

A minimum viable product (MVP) was deployed to production within six months

Over the next three years, the system evolved with continuous feature enhancements to support the client’s growing business

Scandiantech’s solution enabled the client to quickly enter the market with a reliable and scalable platform, positioning them for long-term success in the car sales industry
